Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect anomalous activities and potential breaches
- Conduct threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing across network infrastructure
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement containment measures
- Develop and maintain security documentation, playbooks, and incident response protocols
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST frameworks
- Provide real-time threat intelligence reports and brief executive stakeholders on security posture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection environments
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS technologies
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust models
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61) and forensic methodologies
- Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple security incidents simultaneously
