Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and analyze alerts for potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and coordinate remediation efforts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Generate comprehensive security reports for leadership and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or analyst role
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Experience with SIEM tools, threat intelligence platforms, and vulnerability scanners
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH/GCIH preferred)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
