Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for anomalous network traffic and potential security incidents
- Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches using tools like Wireshark and EnCase
- Develop and maintain security playbooks for incident response procedures
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to implement firewall configurations and IDS/IPS rules
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive leadership and regulatory compliance
- Perform vulnerability assessments using Nessus and Qualys across hybrid cloud environments
- Participate in purple team exercises to test and improve defensive capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- Active CISSP, CISM, or Security+ certification (CompTIA Security+ acceptable)
- Proficiency in threat detection tools (CrowdStrike, Darktrace) and EDR solutions
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks and compliance requirements
- Experience with Windows/Linux system hardening and secure coding practices
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 security operations environment
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
