Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and triage incidents for potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches and cyberattacks
- Develop and implement security monitoring scripts to enhance threat detection capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate vulnerabilities and prevent recurrence
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and executive summaries
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools and network security protocols (TCP/IP, IDS/IPS)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex data points
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent written communication for documenting security events
