Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms 24/7 to detect and respond to security incidents
- Conduct forensic investigations of cyber threats and intrusions
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response playbooks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
- Stay current on emerging threats and adapt defense strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in a SOC or federal environment
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and federal security requirements
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
