Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, or equivalent).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify potential weaknesses in systems and networks.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware infections and data breaches, following incident response procedures.
- Implement and maintain security controls, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and NIST frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network security.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and threat hunting.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
