Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, determine root causes, and coordinate remediation efforts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation, playbooks, and incident response procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA)
- Provide monthly security awareness training to employees and leadership
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM implementation
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CISM preferred)
- Expertise in network security protocols (TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, firewalls)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in high-pressure situations
- Valid driver's license for occasional client site visits
