Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to identify and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and create detailed incident reports
- Develop and implement security monitoring procedures and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight)
- Strong understanding of network protocols and security architectures
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 SOC environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
