Responsibilities
- Architect 5-10 year technology roadmaps for AI, quantum computing, and biotech convergence
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping breakthrough systems using advanced materials science
- Develop patentable solutions for climate tech, neurointerfaces, and autonomous systems
- Present strategic vision to C-suite and board members with data-driven impact projections
- Mentor PhD researchers and incubate internal startup ventures
- Establish industry standards for ethical AI deployment and sustainable tech practices
- Secure $5M+ in annual R&D funding through competitive grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Engineering, or related field with 8+ years experience
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, or IEEE) on emerging technologies
- Proven track record of commercializing at least two breakthrough technologies
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum machine learning, synthetic biology, or advanced robotics
- Experience securing federal grants (DARPA, NSF) and venture capital funding
- Proficiency in strategic foresight methodologies (e.g., horizon scanning, scenario planning)
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
