What You Will Do
We are looking for an engineer who can hit the ground running on Saturday mornings. Your primary focus will be stability, deployment, and support.
Responsibilities
- Execute and monitor production deployments on the weekend to ensure zero downtime and seamless user transitions.
- Resolve critical technical incidents and provide on-call support during off-peak hours.
- Collaborate with the central DevOps team to optimize CI/CD pipelines specifically for weekend releases.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, security audits, and performance testing for all weekend builds.
- Maintain and troubleshoot legacy systems and databases that require off-hour attention.
- Document technical processes and create runbooks for weekend-specific procedures.
- Participate in agile stand-ups and sprint planning via remote collaboration tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with proficiency in at least one major language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript).
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay technical status to the team during off-hours.
