Responsibilities
- Monitor and Analyze: Conduct real-time monitoring of network traffic, systems, and applications to detect potential security breaches and anomalies.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents, ensuring rapid containment and recovery to minimize downtime.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and vulnerabilities that evade automated detection systems.
- Security Hardening: Assess and implement security patches, configure firewalls, and harden systems against emerging threats.
- Vulnerability Management: Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
- Compliance Reporting: Ensure all security measures adhere to industry standards (NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and generate detailed compliance reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, development, and legal teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related role.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CEH, CISM, or Security+ certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection systems.
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and analysis.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability: Ability to work in a 24/7 SOC environment or rotating shifts as required.
