Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk, QRadar, and AlienVault SIEM platforms
- Lead incident response investigations for malware, ransomware, and APT attacks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using Nessus and Burp Suite
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python and PowerShell
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to implement zero-trust architectures
- Create executive-level threat intelligence briefings and security remediation reports
- mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous security improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with hands-on SOC analyst experience
- CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification (required)
- Expert knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Proficiency in threat hunting and MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Ability to work rotating shifts in 24/7 SOC environment
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
