Responsibilities
- Design & Deploy: Architect and implement scalable software solutions, focusing on stability and performance during weekend maintenance windows.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine system updates, database migrations, and security patches to ensure zero downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve critical technical issues and bugs reported by users or detected by monitoring tools.
- Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code and conduct thorough code reviews to ensure best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the full-time engineering team to align weekend objectives with long-term product goals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation for all systems, processes, and deployment procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong command of at least two major programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript).
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or fixed schedule.
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, including optimization and query management.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team updates.
