The Role:
As a Weekend Software Engineer, you will ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our software applications. You will work closely with our product management and QA teams to troubleshoot issues, implement patches, and deploy new features during off-peak hours to minimize user impact.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and debug complex software solutions using modern languages and frameworks.
- Execute weekend maintenance cycles, including software updates, security patches, and system backups.
- Diagnose and resolve critical technical issues reported during business hours with a focus on speed and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define feature requirements and technical specifications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge with the team.
- Monitor system performance and optimize code for speed and scalability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#).
- Strong understanding of SQL and database management systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote and on-site hybrid environment.
