Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level infrastructure including cloud (AWS/Azure), virtualization (VMware), and on-premise systems
- Proactively monitor system health using tools like Nagios and Splunk, ensuring 99.99% uptime across 500+ servers
- Lead security initiatives including vulnerability assessments, patch management, and compliance with NIST and SOC 2 standards
- Automate infrastructure workflows using Ansible, Terraform, and Python for scalability and efficiency
- Manage complex storage solutions including SAN/NAS and backup/recovery systems for petabyte-scale data
- Provide Level 3 support for critical systems and mentor junior administrators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Linux/Windows Server administration
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Certifications (CompTIA Server+, AWS Certified SysOps Admin, or equivalent) required
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience with enterprise networking (Cisco/Juniper) and load balancing (F5)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues under pressure
