Job Description
CyberCore Technologies is seeking a dynamic Senior System Administrator to join our growing IT infrastructure team in Baltimore. As a critical member of our operations division, you'll design, implement, and maintain complex multi-platform environments while ensuring 99.99% uptime for our enterprise clients. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic planning to drive innovation in cloud-native architectures.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Windows Server 2019/2022 and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) environments
- Implement and maintain AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure including VPCs, IAM, and auto-scaling
- Oversee network security protocols (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS) and compliance frameworks
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execute quarterly failover tests
- Automate deployment processes using Ansible/Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor system performance using Nagios/Zabbix and capacity planning
- Document infrastructure changes and maintain runbooks in Confluence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or 5+ years equivalent experience
- Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise networking
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- AWS/Azure certifications (SAA/AZ-104) preferred
- Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere/Hyper-V)
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- ITIL foundation certification or equivalent
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex cross-platform issues
