We are currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior System Administrator to join our elite IT team in Jacksonville, FL.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex IT infrastructure. You will ensure the highest levels of system availability, security, and performance while mentoring junior staff and driving technical excellence. Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
- Administer Windows Server and Linux environments, including Active Directory and identity management.
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols, including patch management and firewall configurations.
- Lead server migrations and virtualization projects (VMware/Hyper-V) to optimize resource allocation.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for complex hardware and software issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure IT infrastructure aligns with business goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience as a System Administrator or DevOps Engineer.
- Expert proficiency in Windows Server, PowerShell, and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, VCP, or MCSA are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
