Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols including firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls
- Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell, Python, and Ansible
- Diagnose and resolve complex system outages with minimal disruption to operations
- Oversee backup/recovery procedures and disaster planning initiatives
- Document system configurations and maintain compliance with industry standards (NIST, HIPAA)
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on system administration in enterprise environments
- Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- VMware vSphere/ESXi certification preferred
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
- Proven ability to manage hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
