Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions specifically for weekend maintenance windows to minimize downtime.
- Debug complex code issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for our core platforms.
- Collaborate with the central engineering team to ensure seamless integration of weekend maintenance updates with the weekly production release cycle.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers on the weekend team.
- Monitor system health and alertness, responding immediately to critical alerts and incidents during the shift.
- Document technical specifications, incident reports, and architectural changes resulting from weekend activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations and sprint planning to ensure smooth operations across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with at least 2 years in a high-volume production environment.
- Proficiency in at least two major programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
