Role Overview:
You will be the guardian of our production environment on weekends. This involves monitoring system health, executing critical updates, and resolving any technical escalations that arise during low-traffic periods. Your work directly impacts our 99.99% uptime SLA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute weekend maintenance windows for on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Perform code reviews and merge pull requests for the weekly sprint release.
- Monitor system metrics, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with the on-call team to troubleshoot and resolve critical production incidents.
- Implement and test automated deployment pipelines to ensure smooth rollouts.
- Mentor junior engineers on weekend support protocols and best practices.
- Document technical processes and create runbooks for complex system procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years specifically in a shift or support role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript (Node.js preferred).
- Experience with AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure and a valid driver's license (for on-site availability if needed).
- Availability to work Fridays through Sundays (40 hours per week).
