Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize prompt architectures for large language models (GPT-4, Claude, etc.)
- Develop and maintain comprehensive prompt libraries with version control and documentation
- Conduct iterative testing and refinement of prompts using quantitative metrics and human evaluation
- Collaborate with ML engineers to fine-tune model behavior through prompt engineering techniques
- Create prompt templates for diverse use cases including content generation, data extraction, and conversational AI
- Document prompt patterns, best practices, and performance benchmarks for team knowledge base
- Stay current with emerging AI research and integrate new techniques into prompt development workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on prompt engineering experience with production-level LLMs
- Expertise in Python and experience with AI frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face, etc.)
- Deep understanding of transformer architectures and attention mechanisms
- Proven ability to design experiments and measure prompt effectiveness quantitatively
- Strong written communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating successful prompt engineering projects with measurable outcomes
- Experience working in agile development environments with version control (Git)
