Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN infrastructure including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG to ensure 99.9% uptime
- Execute network security protocols including VPN configurations, IDS/IPS management, and vulnerability assessments
- Lead network upgrade projects including hardware refreshes and technology migrations
- Document network topology, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Provide Tier-3 support for network-related incidents and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Stay current with emerging technologies like SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network administration
- Certifications: CCNP, CCNA Security, or CompTIA Network+ required
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLAN configurations
- Proficiency with network automation tools (Ansible, Python) and scripting
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to resolve complex network outages
- Excellent communication skills for documenting technical procedures and training staff
