Role Overview
As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions to protect our organization from evolving cyber threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and drive security initiatives forward.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify security gaps.
- Implement and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Respond to security incidents, including forensic analysis and incident containment strategies.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation (GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Conduct security awareness training for staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud security (AWS/Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or Bash) for automation and security tasks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
