Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Execute real-time monitoring of security alerts, logs, and events using SIEM tools to identify and neutralize threats before they breach the perimeter.
- Incident Response: Lead the triage, investigation, and remediation of security incidents, including malware analysis and network intrusion attempts.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and manage patching cycles during off-peak hours to minimize operational disruption.
- Reporting: Generate detailed incident reports and threat intelligence briefings for the leadership team, providing actionable insights on emerging cyber threats.
- Access Control: Manage user access rights and authentication protocols to enforce the principle of least privilege across all systems.
- Compliance: Ensure all weekend activities align with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, GDPR).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH is highly preferred for weekend leadership roles.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a SOC environment, with specific focus on intrusion detection and incident response.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel) and firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto).
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
