Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events on a 24/7 basis, specifically focusing on weekend coverage to ensure continuous threat detection.
- Conduct thorough incident response and triage for security breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Analyze network traffic and system logs to identify suspicious activity and anomalies using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Collaborate with the SOC team to implement patches, updates, and configuration changes to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation following post-incident reviews and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen the organization's security posture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network administration.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Proficiency in using firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during critical incidents.
