Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, endpoints, and cloud infrastructure 24/7, with specific focus on weekend coverage rotations.
- Conduct thorough security investigations and incident response to mitigate active threats and breaches.
- Implement and maintain advanced threat detection systems, including SIEM and EDR tools.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify weaknesses in our infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation (GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Austin and Ohio to educate stakeholders on security best practices.
- Lead tabletop exercises and red team/blue team simulations to test organizational resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, incident response, or SOC analysis.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and effectively during the weekend on-call rotation.
