Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring & Response: Analyze security alerts and events from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify and neutralize potential threats 24/7.
- Incident Management: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
- Network Defense: Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPN gateways to enforce security policies.
- Compliance & Reporting: Generate detailed incident reports and ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Threat Hunting: Conduct proactive searches for hidden threats and vulnerabilities within the network infrastructure.
- Remote Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and IT, to implement security best practices remotely.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, CISM, or Security+ is required; GCIH preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network administration.
- Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work the Night Shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM EST).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting; deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and encryption.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
