Fort Worth CyberDefense is looking for a vigilant Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite Night Shift team. In this critical role, you will serve as the guardian of our digital infrastructure, working during off-hours to detect and neutralize threats that target organizations in the DFW metroplex.
While the world sleeps, you will be awake, monitoring Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, conducting deep-dive investigations, and responding to security incidents with precision. This is a high-impact position that requires a strategic mindset and a passion for protecting data integrity.
What You Will Do:
• Proactively monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify potential intrusions.
• Investigate and remediate security incidents with a focus on minimizing downtime.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply security patches to critical systems.
• Collaborate with the day-shift SOC team to ensure seamless threat mitigation.
• Document incident reports and maintain knowledge bases for recurring threats.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) dashboards for suspicious activity and anomalies.
- Perform triage and analysis of security alerts, prioritizing critical threats for immediate response.
- Execute incident response playbooks to contain and eradicate cyber threats.
- Assist in the deployment of firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and endpoint protection agents.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability scans to ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts during the shift.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network defense.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCFA are highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight).
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and common network protocols.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Experience with Linux/Windows command line and scripting (Python/Bash) is a plus.
