Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including Next-Generation Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Collaborate with IT operations and software development teams to patch vulnerabilities and secure application lifecycles.
- Investigate security breaches, root cause analysis, and prepare incident response reports.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM) policies to enforce the principle of least privilege.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or information security.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or Bash) for security automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
