Apex Cyber Systems is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite security operations center in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be the first line of defense against evolving cyber threats, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our enterprise infrastructure.
As a key member of our risk management team, you will leverage cutting-edge technology and best practices to proactively identify vulnerabilities and respond to incidents with precision. Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events using SIEM tools such as Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to identify potential weaknesses in network architecture.
- Lead incident response investigations and coordinate with legal and compliance teams during security breaches.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for employees to foster a culture of security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology (or equivalent professional experience).
- 4+ years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst or SOC role.
- Active certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation and threat hunting.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
