Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events within the SIEM environment (Splunk/Sigma).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
- Lead incident response efforts for security breaches and coordinate with external law enforcement when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and awareness training programs for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, SOC, or network defense.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, subnetting, and routing protocols.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
