Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate and document security incidents with detailed forensic reports
- Implement threat detection rules and optimize security controls
- Collaborate with incident response teams during security breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop playbooks for common cyber threats (ransomware, phishing)
- Provide security awareness training to non-technical stakeholders
- Stay current on MITRE ATT&CK Framework and zero-day threats
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations or threat detection role
- Active CISSP, Security+, or GIAC certification (required)
- Expertise in IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) environments
- Excellent written communication for incident reporting
