Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Python
- Implement cloud solutions on AWS with serverless architecture expertise
- Debug and optimize complex distributed systems during night shift hours
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices across repositories
- Document technical specifications and API endpoints
- Mentor junior engineers through pair programming sessions
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical system incidents
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend development with JavaScript/Python
- Proven expertise with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and Docker/Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours (10 PM - 6 AM CT)
- Excellent problem-solving skills for distributed system challenges
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong written communication skills for async collaboration
