As we scale our generative AI initiatives, you will be the architect behind our Large Language Models (LLMs), ensuring they communicate with precision, creativity, and ethical alignment.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical AI capabilities and user needs, crafting the perfect inputs that drive high-value outputs from state-of-the-art language models. Work from anywhere in the United States while contributing to a world-class engineering hub in the Motor City.
Responsibilities
- Prompt Design & Optimization: Create, test, and refine complex prompt chains and templates for LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, Llama) to ensure high-quality, context-aware responses.
- Model Fine-Tuning: Collaborate with data scientists to prepare datasets and design prompts that facilitate effective fine-tuning of custom models.
- User Experience Enhancement: Analyze user feedback and interaction data to iteratively improve prompt performance and user satisfaction.
- Documentation & Standards: Develop comprehensive documentation for prompt libraries and contribute to the creation of internal AI guidelines and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to integrate AI capabilities into our product ecosystem seamlessly.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in prompt engineering, NLP, or a related AI/ML field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with AI frameworks (Hugging Face, LangChain) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for tone, style, and nuance.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and debug AI behavior.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, English, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
