Responsibilities
- Threat Detection: Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools to identify potential breaches in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify system weaknesses and implement patches.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to security policies, NIST frameworks, and HIPAA/GDPR regulations as applicable.
- Network Defense: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs.
- Reporting: Generate detailed security reports and dashboards for stakeholders to provide visibility into the security posture.
- Training: Educate staff on security best practices and phishing awareness.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or information security.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting; deep knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols.
- Tools: Hands-on experience with SIEM (Splunk, LogRhythm), Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and EDR solutions.
- Work Style: Proven ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid environment with strong self-discipline.
