Responsibilities
- Lead research initiatives in quantum algorithm design and quantum error correction optimization
- Architect scalable quantum computing systems compatible with classical infrastructure
- Develop quantum-resistant cybersecurity protocols for 2026 threat landscape
- Secure and manage $5M+ annual research budgets from government and private sector
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration with AI/ML teams
- Translate theoretical quantum models into industry-ready applications for finance, logistics, and drug discovery
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals/conferences
- Experience managing quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, color codes)
- Strong background in quantum machine learning and hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Track record of securing federal research grants (NSF, DoE, DARPA)
- Exceptional technical communication skills for executive/technical audiences
