About the Role:
Meridian Quant Solutions is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Part-Time Software Engineer to support our proprietary trading desk. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining the software infrastructure that powers our equity options strategies. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Optimize Algorithms: Design, code, and test low-latency algorithms specifically for equity options execution and market making.
- System Maintenance: Monitor, debug, and improve the stability and performance of our existing trading infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Data Integration: Integrate with external data feeds (APIs) to ingest real-time market data and options chain information.
- Code Review & Documentation: Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation for trading strategies and system architecture.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with quantitative analysts and traders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on high-performance systems.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java. Experience with FastAPI or Flask is highly desirable.
- Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets, specifically equity options, derivatives, and market microstructure.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Availability: Must be available to work a part-time schedule (approx. 20-30 hours/week) during U.S. market hours.
Location: This position is open to candidates based in Pennsylvania or Virginia (Hybrid/Remote friendly).
