Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and implement security documentation including policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Assist with security audits and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps and implement hardening measures
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Participate in incident response drills and real-world security incident handling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years of cybersecurity experience with hands-on threat detection tools
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (CEH, CISSP preferred)
- Proficiency in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for healthcare/finance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
