Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and system logs to identify and mitigate potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure system integrity.
- Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption methods.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with the full-time incident response team for containment and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST.
- Document security policies, procedures, and incident reports with high attention to detail.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network architecture.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, SIEM) and endpoint protection solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Valid US work authorization and willingness to undergo a background check.
