You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including SIEM platforms, threat intelligence feeds, and vulnerability scanning tools. This position reports directly to our Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager and requires 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts across SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and prioritize incident response activities
  • Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches and generate detailed incident reports
  • Implement security controls and recommend improvements based on threat intelligence
  • Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with NIST standards
  • Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and policies
  • Participate in threat hunting exercises and proactive security assessments
  • Provide cybersecurity awareness training to staff during onboarding

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with focus on threat detection and incident response
  • CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
  • Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat intelligence methodologies
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and patch management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent investigations
  • Excellent written communication skills for reporting and documentation
  • Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
