Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for potential threats and suspicious activities in real-time.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations, root cause analysis, and coordinate incident response actions.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify potential weaknesses in systems and networks.
- Analyze security logs and generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders and management.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to patch vulnerabilities and strengthen system defenses.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC, or network security operations.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency in using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule as a part-time employee.
