Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts in real-time using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and anomalies.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify security weaknesses.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and containment strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and NIST frameworks.
- Assist in the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training for employees.
- Configure and manage firewall policies and intrusion detection systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role (SOC Analyst, Security Engineer).
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP preferred.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with incident response methodologies and forensic analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as a part-time contractor while communicating effectively with the team.
