Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection and incident response
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Generate comprehensive security reports and documentation for executive stakeholders
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
- Research emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Assist in developing security awareness training programs
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with focus on threat detection
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network analysis (Wireshark)
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux system hardening and secure configuration
- Familiarity with incident response protocols (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) a plus
