We're seeking a vigilant professional to monitor, detect, and respond to security threats across our client networks. You'll work closely with senior analysts to implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards. This position requires 20-25 hours per week with hybrid work options.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities and anomalies
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and implement remediation actions
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and cybersecurity trends
- Assist with compliance audits and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, NIST)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security operations
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security protocols
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, OpenVAS)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
