Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for real-time threat detection and incident response
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, playbooks, and incident reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Analyze malware, intrusion attempts, and anomalous user behavior using forensic tools
- Participate in security awareness training for employees and stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and countermeasures through continuous research
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with focus on threat detection and incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (CISSP, CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical security incidents
- Valid California driver's license for occasional on-site security audits
