Job Description
Join NexusShield Security as a Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst and play a pivotal role in safeguarding critical infrastructure for Fortune 500 clients. This hybrid role (3 days onsite in NYC) offers the flexibility of part-time hours while engaging in high-impact security operations. You'll work with cutting-edge SIEM platforms and threat intelligence feeds to detect and neutralize sophisticated cyber threats targeting financial services and healthcare sectors.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk and Sentinel platforms
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate incident response procedures
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and policies
- Collaborate with SOC team to implement zero-trust architecture principles
- Perform threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK framework methodologies
- Provide quarterly security posture reports to senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with SIEM/SOAR tools
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency in Python for automation scripting
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike
- Understanding of NIST 800-53 and HIPAA compliance frameworks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Active NYS Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
