Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for anomalies, suspicious activities, and potential threats 24/7.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and internal penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate the remediation process with internal IT teams.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).
- Ensure strict compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA regulations.
- Document security policies, incident reports, and audit trails accurately.
- Collaborate with external auditors and stakeholders to improve security posture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network security.
- Active CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC certification preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common attack vectors (phishing, malware, DDoS).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and log analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and security alerts.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage a part-time schedule of 20-30 hours per week.
