Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Respond to security incidents with documented incident response procedures
- Implement and maintain firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection
- Generate and analyze security reports for executive stakeholders
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
- Research emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with focus on threat detection
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, encryption, and authentication systems
- Experience with incident response and forensic investigation techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in part-time capacity
- Valid Arizona driver's license for occasional on-site requirements
