Responsibilities
- Develop & Maintain: Design, code, and deploy scalable backend services using modern technologies (Python, Java, or Go).
- System Monitoring: Proactively monitor system performance, logs, and database health during the night shift to prevent outages.
- Issue Resolution: Debug and resolve critical production issues that arise during off-peak hours with minimal supervision.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation and handovers for the day-shift team.
- Optimization: Analyze and optimize database queries and application performance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Coding Standards: Adhere to best practices for code quality, security, and version control (Git).
- Collaboration: Participate in code reviews and agile planning sessions (via async communication).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Core Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Database Knowledge: Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM β 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM β 7:00 AM).
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and solve complex problems without direct supervision.
