Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and wireless networks.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor network traffic and security systems to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Assist in the physical cabling and installation of routers, switches, and servers.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding network connectivity and hardware usage.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to implement new network technologies and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Valid industry certification such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching protocols.
- Experience configuring network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex network issues efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with non-technical staff.
- Ability to lift and carry networking equipment and work in various physical environments.
